Hugh Quarshie is a Ghanaian-British writer, producer and actor. He studied for the Philosophy, Politics and Economics degree at the University of Oxford. He is a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, and has appeared in many stage productions and television programmes.
His big break into film came with Eighties sci-fi fantasy Highlander, and he went on to appear in another well known space flick - Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. It's on the small screen that Hugh has notched up most of his appearances, though. He played Holby City medic Ric Griffin and notched up roles in a range of other shows, including Red Dwarf, Doctor Who, The Bill, Casualty. He's also appeared in children's preogrammes The Tomorrow People and Press Gang.
