Derrick Owusu Amoako is an experienced UK-trained strategic communications expert who is fluent in his native English, Italian, French, Spanish, and basic Japanese. His experience working with the British Government as a strategic communications specialist, the public relations department of British multinational media company Economist Group in London, Derrick has over seven years of experience as a communicator in several media and corporate companies including brands such as Jaguar Land Rover, Bacardi, IWC, Peninsula and the UN's Global Goals and Project Everyone.
He founded the company NovaLuxCommunications (NLC) in 2015 to provide a platform and visibility to businesses who are ready to make an impact through delivery of effective communication strategy to address business and communication He has a BSc in Psychology at Brunel University in London, an MSc in Global Governance and Public Policy from the University of London Birkbeck University and a Diploma in Japanese Culture and Studies from the University College London (UCL). He has been a member of the British Psychological Society since 2009
Ghanaian by origin, Derrick Owusu Amoako also manages the PR for the Future of Ghana. As a result of the organisation’s vision of propelling young Ghanaians to the front to become leaders and contribute to the development and betterment of the West African country.
He has also worked on the communication strategies and media relations for the HACSA Summit 2019, writing speeches for speakers and achieving coverage on international media outlets, such as CGTN and CNBC Africa.
10 years from now, he sees NLC become Africa and emerging nations’ leading business and governance communication firm, with a mission to provide a platform and strategically position the next leaders of industries.
