Tech4Girls is a hands-on learning program that trains girls and women in digital skills, including ICT, coding, and AI, to support their career development. This initiative creates opportunities for African girls and women to immerse themselves in technology and acquire skills needed for careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). They also receive training in soft skills such as entrepreneurship, emotional intelligence, and leadership.
Tech4Girls represents a significant step towards achieving gender parity in tech industries and creates opportunities for women and girls to excel in this vital field.
HACSA has partnered with TAF College to also equip girls with soft skills to enhance their career prospects. These include public speaking, critical thinking, problem solving, leadership, social media marketing and entrepreneurship
HACSA is committed to supporting and nurturing girls and young women even after they have completed our program. We do this through tailored career advice, internships, mentorship and opportunities for networking.
After completing their training, scholars are inducted into the Tech4Girls alumni network at an award ceremony where they are recognised for participation and completion and receive certificates. They then become part of the Tech4Girls community and are encouraged to benefit from the continuous support and mentorship it provides.
HACSA seeks to secure internship opportunities for scholars within our professional networks where they can practise their newly acquired tech skills and gain the requisite experience to progress into full employment. HACSA also creates teams made up of instructors, students and alumni to work on projects to solve problems and apply the skills they have learnt from their training.
Organizations that recuit HACSA alumni for internships will provide mentorship, support and guidance to the scholars.Alumni in turn, will serve as peer mentors to the next cohort of the program extending support to scholars and facilitating their learning journey in technology.
HACSA has developed an innovative virtual hub where students and alumni can come together with sponsors, mentors, instructors and staff, to learn, support each other, give feedback, network and collaborate even after they have completed the program.

The Tech4Girls Innovation Lab aims to provide ongoing support, practical real-life work experience and internships and career advancement opportunities. This bridges the gap between the new skills they have acquired and the smooth transitioning to a work environment. This initiative provides practical experience through hands-on projects that reinforce the skills learnt and foster a strong and supportive community and pursue their interests in diverse areas while encouraging lifelong learning.
HACSA’s Tech4Girls program has its origins in the successful “Girls Can Code” project initiated by Ambassador Johanna Svaniker during her tenure as Ghana’s Ambassador to France, Portugal, and UNESCO. The project was implemented by the HACSA Foundation in partnership with UNESCO,Ghana Education Service, Kofi Annan Centre for ICT, Kowri and Soronko Foundation.
